The Scandi Designers To Know

With some of the biggest names in contemporary fashion originating from Denmark’s capital, the distinctive style has skyrocketed into the spotlight.

With GanniStine GoyaROTATE and Munthe in Coggles portfolio of Scandi fashion favourites, we’re giving you a rundown of the designers we’re currently swooning over after their stunning collections.

The Global Fashion Agenda (previously named Copenhagen Fashion Summit) continues to lead the conversation when it comes to improving the negative impact that fashion production has on the planet. Over the years, they have featured a prominent line-up of some of the most influential brands in the business, including Nike, H&M and ASOS. Key industry decision makers and stakeholders share knowledge and future plans to mobilise the global fashion system and change the way we produce, market and consume fashion.

There’s no doubt about it, Scandi style is certainly a prominent feature in the pages of our favourite fashion publications, Instagram feeds and street style inspiration. Not only for the design but for the carefully considered brand strategy and focus on sustainability.

Take look at our carefully curated list of the Scandi designers to know below…

#2 BAUM UND PFERDGARTEN

Baum und Pferdgarten collections are built for the consumers first and foremost. Inclusive to all, their collections consist of playful contrasts, beautiful fabrics and stunning prints.

Founding Creative Directors Rikke Baumgarten and Helle Hestehave place fun and personal expression at their core – aiming to create a safe space for individuality and self-expression. The brand focuses on five sustainable focus areas including transparency, minimising plastics and ethical and fair working conditions – and by 2024, they have committed to a series of goals that will benefit the planet, people and animals.

#3 STINE GOYA

We’ve well and truly been won over by the colour combinations and floral prints featured in Stine Goya‘s collections. Not only that but the Scandi fashion label is committed to challenging both design and production to seek out and integrate new processes into each collection to mitigate the impact they have on the environment. Another of Copenhagen’s finest, Stine Goya established the brand in the Danish capital in 2006 and has received international acclaim thanks to her signature marriage of colour and print.

#8 MUNTHE

Just landed at Coggles, Copenhagen based Munthe are true Scandi trendsetters and are as iconic now as they were back in 1994. Designed to be worn and loved both casually and formally – their signature breezy, cool-girl style is captured through each collection. Bringing feminine tailoring, iconic dresses and hand-painted prints, the brand takes cues from art, nature, music, photography and trends.

Munthe are among the Scandi designers committed to playing their part towards a more sustainable future, believing that responsible fashion choice starts at the drawing board.

#9 RÉSUMÉ

A brand born from the united vision of two very different sisters, Emma Lohmann and Anne Louise Faurholt, Résumé’s design collections are built from the foundations of a very interesting fusion. Created in Copenhagen in 2016, the brand’s ethos is all about personal expression. Although conscious of fashion and current trends, Résumé takes it one step further and creates collections that contain both classic and experimental high-fashion pieces.

The brand made its debut at Copenhagen Fashion Week and like many of its Scandi designer counterparts, is committed to a more sustainable future with every collection.
